Yatasto, el mejor caballo Argentino de todos los tiempos - Yatasto, the best Argentine horse of all time

The turf of any country in the world has always been very risky to compare horses from different eras and more to declare one as the best of all time.

It is very difficult to make equanimity comparisons with which to classify different generations and, to begin with, many were unable to face the tracks. Furthermore, the results of each race are unrepeatable, ie if the same race with the same participants, weights, jockeys, starting gate, etc ... be held every week is more than likely the result vary every time, because the imponderables as output crosses the ground state, encouragement or moral horse, success or failure of the jockey stride, position of horses in it, whip hits, strength in the arms movement, etc ... that this result would change frequently.

However, in Argentina, having a best horse of all time, has been something that has not had the slightest doubt and that has not changed since 1951, 60 years ago. That horse is Yatasto and to tell your story briefly on the tracks, I refer to what has already been written on a website:
http://www.portalplanetasedna.com.ar/argentino21.htm

A GREAT HORSE CHAMPION: YATASTO

Year 1.951, ended February. In the riding environment, circulated a fact: March 4, in the classic William Kemmis Racecourse San Isidro, was to debut a 2-year-old colt could not lose. Yatasto baptized, son of Selim Hassan and Yucca, ran through the stud Athens, Uruguay.

It was prepared by J. de la Cruz and Juan Carlos Contreras jockey. As said, was a favorite entry. 1.000 mts. in grass track and competed against 14 others. Length bad, but went for the front and left behind: to reach the disk 3 bodies pulled him ahead of the 2 º. He won the 11 that ran in that year and most by wide margin. No shot was out of tune and see something festive, the others had left far behind. After 7 wins championship came in four times and took all the prizes.

The Carlos Pellegrini 52 was expected and only talked about it. Just opened all 100,000 souls entered. Rivals: Branding and Sidereal. But none of them was the favorite. Branding took the lead, 2 º and 3 º Yatasto Sidereal. But at the finish line, Yatasto get close, but the difference Branding return to the touch. Unexpected when it was evident that the crack had not for more, Sidereal what happens.Branding 1 º, 2 º and 3 º Yatasto Sidereal. Made history this GP. There was no rematch, because the winner was injured and did not return. By 1.953, under other owners, won Maroñas (Uruguay) and all races run in argento floor, where he could leave behind Sidereal. Did he be the one that was? It seemed, after beating the record for 3 miles in 3 '4''1 / 5. That would be the last year and finish undefeated. From 24 runs, 2 losses only, which "room" trajectory.

Retired, was sold to USA in 1.958 and had a winning offspring. For years there was no news about him, except that it was learned that for the 70's served in a stable mixing Californian.

To get a clearer idea of the history of this magnificent horse we put the picture below which details his races :

His campaign in the classical age (1951) was exceptional, won the Argentinian Quadruple Crown by winning the Grand Prix of Polla de Potrillos, Jockey Club, National and Carlos Pellegrini. It also won 5 other classics of Argentine calendar.

The video below shows that we put some of his victories:

But 1.952 came and Yatasto prepared to face a second Grand Prix CarlosPellegrini and that was the day that failed, that day is bad that every greatchampion took him to a third place that stunned all the fans :

Even today, those octogenarians fans could see the victories of this extraordinaryhorse, tell the younger generation what they rattled Yatasto in so many evenings glory of his youth that have made it possible, after 60 years, remains regarded as the "Best Argentine horse of all time."

Pura sangre inglés (nacidos para correr) - English thoroughbred (born to run)

Sometimes, fans of horse racing and races it takes a long to describe all the beauty that holds that world. When a friend, relative or colleague interested in ourlove for this show, it is difficult to tell in short everything that makes us tick each day, each year of racing and, therefore, our partner can not understand what attracts usday after day, year after year, the racetrack anywhere in the world. If this happens in addition to a Spanish fan is much more complicated if it is because in Spain we are very few crazy about racing.

Many of the things that come to mind when we describe our fans are told in the superb documentary that we bring to this blog today, his name "English Thoroughbred (born to run)," is a Spanish TV production that was issued in October 2010 under the "Chronicles" in the "24hrs" channel.

The documentary covers aspects such as horse breeding and auction them in the "Dehesa de Milagro Stud", preparing the horses every day of racing stables, veterinary care, the weighing of jockeys in racing, the opinion of fans and owners, etc ...

Another curious aspect is that this documentary is the development of horses to meet one of the biggest race of the Spanish equestrian calendar, the Grand Prix of 2.010 Claudio Carudel, specifically the two favorite: Silverside, As de Trebol. Trainers give their opinions about everything surrounding the preparation of their horses towards this important event.

This is the documentary, are more than 36 minutes, I'm sure, it seem you few :

The video we put below is the race that tells the story above, Claudio Carudel Grand Prix 2.010 :

And this is the image with the outcome of that race :

Our thanks and congratulations to the team that made this extraordinary documentary which include:
